ATTRACTIONS

Take a swim in our beautiful pool or enjoy a barbeque in our covered areas where the atmosphere is friendly and relaxed. Meet fellow travellers and families enjoying themselves.
When you wish to wander further, the unique beaches of Rainbow and Fraser Island are some of the best free attractions on the East Coast of Australia.

THE TOWN
The town has a hotel together with shops, numerous restaurants, surf club, and Memorial Sports and Recreation Club with bowling greens and tennis courts for hire.
Rainbow Beach has two new facilities:
Community Centre with Library and
Aquatic Centre with 25 metre pool

TOURS
Local tours to the Double Island Point Lighthouse and the famous Coloured Sands plus day tours to Fraser Island can be arranged at our office

FISHING
Fishing from the beach or from a boat is popular year round. Launch from Carlo Point, Bullock Point or from Norman Point at Tin Can Bay to explore the vast area of protected waterways from Rainbow Beach to the Great Sandy Straits at the tip of Fraser Island.
Likewise, beach fishing offers miles and miles of choice.

SURFING/SWIMMING
The Beach is across the road, the beach and is patrolled every day. 4WDs are excluded from the patrolled area at all times.
The new aquatic centre, is another option

DOLPHINS
A must, particularly for children, is to feed the wild dolphins at Tin Can Bay. Dolphin Ferry departs every morning from Rainbow Beach.

WHALE WATCHING
Tours depart from Hervey Bay to the Great Sandy Straits during the whale-watching season.

SEA KAYAKING & CANOEING
See the dolphins at Double Island Point with Dolphin Sea Kayaking. Hire a canoe or bring your own to explore miles of sheltered water from Carlo Point

HANG GLIDING & SKY DIVING

For the more adventurous, paraglide or hang-glide from the famous Carlo Sandblow (accompanied para-gliding is available with Rainbow Beach Hang Gliding School). Try tandem skydiving with Sky Dive Rainbow Beach

BUSH WALKING
The Cooloola National Park is right on our doorstep and bush-walking tracks provide a range of highlights from a short walk to the famous Carlo Sandblow to longer walks to the Bymien Picnic Area and on to Lake Poona.
Walk the Old Telephone Track along the cliff tops from Rainbow Beach to Double Island Point and return via the beach to view the famous coloured sands that give Rainbow Beach its name.
Longer walks involving overnight camping will take you deeper into the National Park and the upper reaches of the Noosa River.

FOUR WHEEL DRIVING
A 4WD allows further access to many of the beautiful attractions of the Cooloola Section of the Great Sandy National Park but a permit is required to drive on the beach. This can be obtained from the local National Parks Office.
Tours can be booked at our office for the Coloured Sands and Double Island Point. We also book day tours to the World Heritage listed Fraser Island.
4WD vehicles can be hired in the town.
However, it is possible to reach the Bymien Picnic area or Harry’s Hut on the upper reaches of the Noosa River by 2WD

BOWLS & TENNIS
